Swimming is an integral part of our school's Physical Education programme. We have a 20 m swimming pool which is heated during Term 4 and Term 1. All students are timetabled to swim at least once per week. There is a very big focus on water safety and water confidence in the junior school. We compete regularly and are very successful in the pool.

All rugby is played and organised under the Rugby Union banner and pupils and parents are expected to abide by the AIMMs code of conduct.
Rippa Rugby is the new game for primary schools. It is a very safe, non-contact, easy to play game for both boys and girls alike. Best of all it's fun and exciting for all involved. While the rules are simple and the game easy to learn, Rippa Rugby promotes excellent ball handling and running skills, and gives all students a chance to participate in our national game. Rippa Rugby is currently played by our Year 3/4 and Y5/6 students. Three tournaments, organised by the Rugby Union, are held annually at the Riverhead Rugby Club.
